Ikawa Distillery Experience

The flight takes about 25 minutes each way, and you will spend about two to three hours at Ikawa Distillery, for a total of about six hours. Times may vary depending on weather and wind conditions. If the return helicopter flight cannot operate due to bad weather or other reasons, you will be taken back overland by car, which may take even longer. Thank you for your understanding.

As a rule, we will decide whether the flight can operate on the evening before the flight and contact you. However, as mountain weather changes very quickly, the flight may be suddenly cancelled due to a sudden change in weather on the day, even if it was confirmed to operate the day before. Thank you for your understanding. ■ If the Outbound Flight Is Cancelled If the outbound helicopter flight cannot operate, based on the decision made the day before or due to a sudden change in weather on the day, the tour will be cancelled. In this case, the tour price will be refunded in full (no cancellation fee). ■ If Only the Return Flight Is Cancelled If only the return flight is cancelled due to a sudden change in weather on the day, you will be taken back overland by car instead. In this case, we will refund 140,000 JPY (tax included) for the return helicopter flight. (*There is no additional charge for the car transfer.) ■ Note on Compensation When the Tour Is Cancelled If the tour is cancelled due to bad weather or other reasons, we will refund the tour price. We regret that we cannot compensate for transportation to the meeting point, accommodation, or other expenses. Thank you for your understanding.

Ikawa Distillery is a whisky distillery located at an altitude of about 1,200 m in the Southern Alps, in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It uses Tokusa spring water and matures its spirits in the cool, humid forest environment. On this tour, you will fly by helicopter to near the distillery and visit with a dedicated guide. This tour basically departs from and returns to Shizuoka Station (Shizuoka Heliport), but on request, you can depart from Tokyo Heliport for the outbound flight only. Due to the flight schedule, the return flight cannot go to Tokyo Heliport, so the tour ends at Shizuoka Heliport (dismissal at Shizuoka Station). Thank you for your understanding. This tour has a maximum capacity of four guests, and bookings are accepted from one guest. Depending on the booking status, you may therefore share the tour with other guests. (*All activities, including the private car transfer between Shizuoka Station and Shizuoka Heliport, the helicopter flight, and the guided tour at Ikawa Distillery, will be shared.) If you would like a private tour for three or fewer guests, it may be possible to arrange, so please contact us separately.

We are currently accepting bookings for [November 3] only. This is a special pre-test (advance) operation ahead of the full launch. We plan to open new dates in stages, but they have not yet been decided. We will announce additional dates on this website and our social media as soon as they are set, so please stay tuned.

As the helicopter has strict limits on payload weight and trunk space, you may only bring small hand luggage that fits on your lap (such as a handbag or a small backpack) during the tour. Large luggage such as suitcases and large duffel bags cannot be loaded onto the helicopter or the transfer car. If you have large luggage, please leave it in a coin locker at Shizuoka Station or elsewhere before meeting, and join the tour traveling light.
